Around the Mas de la Baillyde

TOURISM – GASTRONOMY – LEISURE

How do you like your holidays? Relaxing? Cultural? Sporty? Gastronomic? There’s a bit of something for everyone in the area surrounding Mas de la Baillyde!

Here’s a little selection of some of our favourites:

Allegre les Fumades

Just 8km from Mas de la Baillyde, Allegre les Fumades boasts a thermal spa (currently undergoing renovations, reopening scheduled for April 2024) and even a casino.

Vallon Pont d’Arc

A 30-40 minute drive away, Vallon Pont d’Arc boasts a majestic natural bridge, the Pont d’Arc, which spans the Ardèche River. A nice spot for a dip in the water, you can also pass underneath it by canoe. It gets busy in high Summer but it’s certainly worth the effort. Outside July and August it’s much quieter.

Uzès

The enchanting medieval market town of Uzès, with its famous Duchy, is just half an hour away by car. Explore the vibrant Uzès market held every Saturday and Wednesday, offering a diverse range of local products. The Wednesday market is a bit smaller with mainly local produce, the Saturday market is a big one that has to be seen to be believed! A few years ago it was voted one of the top 5 markets in France. Uzès is definitely worth a visit even if it’s not market day, strolling through the little streets of the city center is a delightful experience.

Cave Exploration

Discover numerous caves in the vicinity, each with unique features – we especially recommend la Grotte de la Cocalière and la Grotte de la Salamandre which are close by. A cave visit is an excellent plan for hot days or rare rainy ones.

Anduze

Nestled in the Cévennes, Anduze is a charming town with its famous Bambouseraie bamboo garden worth a visit. It’s also a starting point for the scenic Cévennes Steam Train.
